Wilson Bros. on the Road

The Wilson Bros. have been all over the map the last couple of weeks and finally reconnected at the US Nationals in Wilmington, Illinois! After the Southern Regionals, K.C. headed to Italy for the Jr. World Championships and I headed to Milwaukee for the Malibu Open. K.C. flew over to Italy Saturday morning after taking gold in slalom at regionals. He went over early to train at Thomas Gustafson's lake in Cervia. After a few good days of skiing and sight-seeing they headed east to San Gervasio, Itlay for the tournament. K.C. was top seed for the prelims Friday morning. He went out and ran 1.5 at 38 which put him in 5th going in to the finals on Sunday. In the finals, K.C. went out and set the bar high with a 2 @ 39 and watched to see if anyone could beat it. Well, no one did and he won his first ever Jr. World title! Congrats also to Lauren Morgan who won two gold medals and also to team USA for taking the overall team win! K.C. was so pumped on the win he even shaved his head! (pics below) While K.C. was winning Jr. World Titles on another continent, I was up in Charleston at the H20z training center getting ready for the Malibu Open in Milwaukee. On Thursday morning I flew into Milwaukee excited to ski in one of the most talked about tournaments of the year. We expected big crowds and they showed up, I ended up running 3 at 39 twice and barely missing the cut but it was still a great tournament overall! There was a huge crowd cheering on the skiers and the night finals was a blast! From there it was off to Chicago for the US Nationals. The Wilson Bros. were glad to be reunited and spent alot of time story telling about their separate adventures! K.C. was skiing overall at the national tournament which was a big surprise to many people. But don't be fooled, he rips! K.C. took the Gold in slalom with 3 at 39 and got 4th overall! He was stoked with getting a podium in overall and even more happy to defend his national slalom title! I skied the next day and ran 3 at 39, ending up in a tie for 7th. The trips around the globe and Nationals have been a blast. Right now I am on a train headed to coach some clinics in Michigan and K.C. is getting ready to start school!
