Masters Recap

To wrap up the 51st Masters I would have to say once again Nautiques and Callaway have put on another great event! The Masters Waterski & Wakeboard Tournament has to be one of the most enjoyable tournaments to be at. It is such a huge honor to be able to ski and compete against others all around the world. Also, Callaway Gardens is a really unique place with its numerous trails to bike though and see all the beautiful gardens and nature of Callaway.

This year was my second year competing at the Jr. Masters. Last year I was able to capture my first Jr. Masters victory. So coming into the event I was really hoping to be able to defend the title. As I pulled out for my first pass and looked across the water it reminded me how awesome it is to be skiing out there. Robin Lake is really a set up like no other. But as I continued, I came up short with an unexpected fall. Everything was going good, but then the challenges of Robin Lake got to me. However, I can take a lot more out of this tournament this year than the year before. So I am excited to get back out on the water and start shreding bouys and becoming a better skier!

After I was done skiing I was able to relax and enjoy my time at the tournament. Everything went great and it was a blast to watch all the skiing. Andy Mapple and Bob LaPoint did an exhibition slalom and that was really neat to watch. Fellow Team Syndicate skier Will Asher took home the Mens Slalom title, so congrats to him. Overall a great weekend. If you got to make it up there this year I'm sure you had a blast and if you didn't come up, plan a trip fpr next year and enjoy the wonders of Callaway Gardens and Robin Lake. I would like to thank Nautiques for putting on a great event and a huge thanks to my entire family for giving their unconditional support and dedication to my skiing and the sport.
