To start things off, sorry for the lack of blogs over the last month. We have both been busy finishing up the semester of school and training hard for the season. Now that school is out we are both in full ski mode and pumped for the season to come! Last weekend was the Masters LCQ or Last Chance Qualifier. I went down there needing to get a score of 3 at 41 in hopes of qualifying for the Masters. K.C. is in for Junior Masters, so I was thinking it would be sweet to be able to compete while I was there too. Anyways, it didn't happen, the first round I went out and ran 39 and then messed up my gate at 41 and ended up over the front of the ski and inside 2 ball. In the second round I changed up my approach, running 32 off the dock and opting up to 38 so I could have a chance at 41 from the other direction. I had a nice 38 and a great start to 39 but I let it get to my head and as I came in to 4 ball I stalled and wheelied the ski, squeaked my way over to 5 but that's all I could do. I was bummed on not qualifying but I couldn't be to upset because it was probably the best tournament I've had. Other notable performances belonged to Marcus who got 2 @ 41, Jon Travers who got 2 and just inside 3 and Boris Laval who was the only one to run 39 both rounds. Overall, a good weekend that leaves me looking forward to what this season holds! Next on the Agenda is K.C. who is training for the Junior Masters coming up this Friday. He is really pumped about this year as he is hoping to defend his title as the reigning Jr. Masters Champ! We will be driving up Thursday morning and hope to be able to do updates every night that we are there! Check back soon! We are off to ski now!
